Is it summer yet?
We finally have some better weather after over a month of non-stop rain here in the UK.
So let's try to usher in some sunshine with all my good news from February!
I'm a One Voice Awards nominee??
I'm going to the One Voice Conference in person this year, so I decided to enter the awards with a clip of Crystal Cove (a children's audiobook series I recorded last year)
Since I entered only one category and knew how popular the awards are every time they are announced, I wasn’t hopeful... but a few weeks ago, I received the email: they had nominated me for Best Non-Binary Voiceover Performance!
The out-pour of support has been staggering, from a very proud agent to David Bateson (voice of Agent 47 in the legendary Hitman games) offering his congratulations on one of my posts - I started playing Hitman as a teen, and it's been one of my favourite games since, so that one feels pretty surreal!
And not to mention, they also nominated me alongside a bunch of non-binary voiceover chums.
The Big VO Social
At the beginning of the month, I hopped on a train to Manchester through the lovely English downpour to attend the Big VO Social.
There was talking, face paint, pens, tote bags, and, of course, PIES! I lost my voice about halfway through, and my poor legs nearly gave out at one point, but I had a great time catching up with a few friends and getting to know some new ones.
Podcasthon 2026
My podcast, Sleepless Creatives, will be taking part in Podcasthon 2026 this March.
From 14th to 20th March, podcasts from around the world will release a special episode in collaboration with a charity of their choice to raise awareness. We have decided to partner with The Entertainment Community Fund (formerly The Actors Fund), an organization that provides support services to people working in the Arts, including emergency financial aid, housing, mental health services, career coaching, and more.
Check them out here: https://entertainmentcommunity.org/
Keep an eye out for our special bonus episode on Thursday, the 19th March!
Follow us on Instagram to keep up to date, and listen to our episodes on our website and all streaming platforms.
More Denshattack!
Three really cool things happened on my birthday on 3rd March: I got a new frying pan, there was a red moon, and Fireshine Games announced the release date for Denshattack as well as a new trailer.
And that's not all, they also released the soundtrack (or a decent chunk of it anyway) and guess whose character has their own track?? Mine! Maybe I'm slightly biased, but I think it's the most badass one on the EP, The Typhoon of Chugoku.
Do your ears and brain a favour and give it a listen.
Happy spring, everyone!
Florence x
